“Forrest Gump” was an unforgettable movie. The 1994 film was one of the most popular films from the 1990s, earning for Tom Hanks an Oscar for best actor, one for best director and for the best film of 1995.

The actors who played in that film are stenciled into our modern American psyche. One of those actors, perhaps the most famous of that movie, is Haley Joel Osment. Playing the young Forrest Gump, he helped make that movie what it was.

Since that film, Osment has gone on to play in other successful movies, such as “The Sixth Sense”, “A. I. Artificial Intelligence”, and “Pay it Forward." Some of his roles have appeared in some of the most popular movies of our modern era.

But the 29-year-old actor was in the news again Wednesday, for an unfortunate reason. While in a Las Vegas airport, police were called on him after he made a scene while trying to board a flight.

According to Fox News, Osment missed his American Airlines flight on Sunday and was told that he could fly standby on the next day. When he returned, that flight was full.

At that point, according to Fox News, he became agitated with a gate agent. The cops were called.

According to a representative for American Airlines, “A passenger on the evening of Sunday, Feb. 4, missed their flight at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport,” the statement said, issued Tuesday.

“As a courtesy, they were placed on standby for another flight Monday morning from Las Vegas. Due to the passenger’s behavior toward our team members on Monday morning, law enforcement was summoned to the gate,” the statement continued.

“The passenger was upset we could not confirm him on a flight, after he missed his flight the previous evening,” the statement said.

According to Page Six and an airport official, authorities were called around 7:05 a.m. to assist an unruly passenger, but the person had left by the time police had arrived at the gate. The police were called again when he made verbal threats, but again he left before being confronted. Officers never made contact with Osment.
