Recently, 88 retired leaders from the American military, comprised of Generals and Admirals, penned an open letter in support of Presidential nominee Donald Trump. In the letter, they stated “his commitment to rebuild our military, to secure our borders, to defeat our Islamic supremacist adversaries and restore law and order domestically” is why they are all throwing their support behind the Republican nominee in his mission to win the White House.
The letter was organized by Legion of Merit recipient, Rear Admiral Charles Williams, and the only Holocaust survivor to become a U.S. General, Major General Sidney Shachnow. They touted Trump as being more trusted to be commander-in-chief than Crooked Hillary and said Trump has the temperament to lead. The military leaders said it was important they came together in unity to draft the letter because it showed the value of military leaders regarding the candidates.
One reason, on a list of many, the Admirals and Generals were not backing Clinton was because “she has made clear she is running as a staunch defender of the status quo when it comes to issues facing our military, and she has shown through her foreign policy decisions and her mishandling of classified information that she lacks the judgment to do the job.”
Keeping the nation safe and leading the armed forces is arguably the most important responsibility of the presidency. To Make America Great Again, we have to ensure our military remains the finest fighting force in the world. A Trump presidency ensures that.
If the weight of 88 senior U.S. military leaders doesn’t move voters to vote Trump, I don’t know what will.
