December 7, 1941. 7:48 a.m.

Japanese bombers headed toward Pearl Harbor, America’s most prominent Pacific base. 2,402 Americans were killed, many others were injured, four battleships were sunk, and military airfields were damaged.

December 7 marks one of the most significant days in United States history. Not only was the attack significant on its own, it was also the event that urged the U.S. into World War II.
