750 Million Ways Illegal Immigration And Obamacare Is Hurting The Country

A new report from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee revealed that as of June 2015, over $750 million dollars in tax credits and Obamacare subsidies were given to more than 500,000 illegal immigrants or people whose legal status was not clear because of incomplete records.

According to Fox News, the federal government can make pay the credits to the insurers in advance on a temporary basis while the legal status of the recipient is being determined.  However, if the recipient is found to be “illegal” or lacking the proper paperwork then all funding must cease and the IRS is required to recover the payments from the people themselves.

The Senate report revealed that the committee believes that the IRS will be unable to recover the $750 million that was handed out.  “The information provided to the committee by the IRS and HHS reveals a troubling lack of coordination between the two agencies and demonstrates that the IRS and HHS neglected to consider how they would recover these wasteful payments,” the report said.

This means that the $750 million dollars in payments to illegal immigrants means that tax payers will be footing the bill if the funds cannot be recovered.  Citizens and legal immigrants will be forced to bear the burden on their already overtaxed shoulders.
